PlainPension is a read-only data portal. We do not require account creation or collect personal information. We use analytics services (Google Analytics, Umami) that may collect anonymized usage data such as page views, browser type, and approximate location.
Cookies
We use cookies for analytics and to remember your dark/light mode preference. We use Google AdSense, which may set advertising cookies. You can opt out via Google's ad settings.

Data We Display
All pension data displayed on PlainPension is sourced from the Public Plans Database (PPD), a public academic database. This data is publicly available and does not include personal information about individual employees or retirees.
Editorial Independence
PlainPension's plan and state pages are generated programmatically from a single documented source, the Public Plans Database (Boston College Center for Retirement Research / NASRA). The PlainPension is responsible for the methodology, data-quality standards, and corrections.
We do not accept payment, sponsorship, or promoted placement from pension plans, plan administrators, investment managers, actuarial firms, or any covered entity. Our only revenue source is contextual display advertising served by Google AdSense, advertisers do not influence which plans we cover or how we present data, and they do not receive preferential placement. PlainPension is informational only and does not provide retirement, investment, tax, or legal advice.
